About me

Originally from Portugal, I am an artist working across painting, installation, sculpting, theatre and opera. My background as a scenographer helps me create work that essentially tells a story.

 

I use heavy concepts to create work that is impactful, emotionally dense and relevant to the world. My focus is to create collections of work, that are within themselves moments of a life. It is: the telling of a tale full of emotion. In the fast paced world we live in, my work represents a moment of pause and reflection, each piece is extremely detailed and in each detail you can find symbolism that allows the audience to see the bigger picture.  ​

 

For me painting helps me create worlds where the audience can relate to the story being told. I like the audience to feel slightly uncomfortable at what they are faced with. I want them to leave thinking about what they have seen as more than painting. 

 

As artists we have the duty to communicate what makes us angry abou this world. The duty to spread our message.
